Why Echogenic Tip Visibility Matters
During ultrasound-guided procedures, the distal part of a smooth needle may be more difficult to recognize at some insertion angles. An echogenic feature near the tip is designed to enhance ultrasound reflection from the distal region, helping make the needle tip easier to identify during image-guided placement.
Visibility is not determined by the presence of a marker alone. The position, length, surface pattern and consistency of the echogenic region should be controlled together with the tip profile. Centimeter markings provide a visible reference for insertion depth, while color-coded hubs help distinguish needle sizes within a product line. These features appear simple, but the location, clarity and adhesion of the markings need to remain stable after assembly, packaging and sterilization.
For private-label or market-specific projects, hub color, printed information and product presentation can be reviewed together rather than treated as separate cosmetic details.
